This week’s winners are:
Delusional – I Killed a Man
By Diana Salles
At Summerhall
The award panel said:
“Delusional, I Killed A Man is a visually stunning and emotionally powerful celebration of Diana’s trans journey, that pays tribute to person she was and the person she is now. Through breath-taking aerial sequences and movement alongside a personal soundscape of Diana’s life the audience is drawn into her world and encouraged to reflect on their own journey”

No Apologies
By Emma Frankland
At Summerhall
The award panel said:
“A poetic, engaging and powerful performance that takes us from Kurt Cobain to a teenager in Cornwall and then with Icarus flying to the sun. Emma Frankland moves powerfully from humour to anger with music, film footage and a bold use of the space in the theatre. Impossible to see this show and not feel moved.”

Fatal Flower
By Valentina Tóth
At Summerhall
The award panel said:
“Fatal Flower draws us into an eccentric genre defying world. A performance of exceptional musical and theatrical skill. Tóth explores a kaleidoscope of 5 engaging female characters offering something that is entertaining disturbing and subversive”

Colours Run
By 4PLAY
At Summerhall
The award panel said:
“A vital and challenging production exploring violence, family dynamics and abuse. There is a brooding sense of menace and claustrophobia as we are waiting for the knock on the door from the police but there is also wit in the Quiz show sequence and poignancy in the delicate and damaged relationship between the 2 brothers. The show has very strong acting performances and a tightly structured script which delivers a big emotional punch”

Anthem for Dissatisfaction
By SkelpieLimmer Productions (in association with Brassneck Theatre Company)
At Summerhall
The award panel said:
“A love letter to the music that makes you, and the people you share it with. Aggressively energetic performances and a soundtrack that makes you want to sing at the top of your lungs”

SLUGS
By Sam Kruger & S E Grummett
At Summerhall
The award panel said:
“This absurd existential rave is brilliantly smart and beautifully stupid. It uses anarchic aesthetics, innovative design and exceptional performances to offer a critical analysis of the absurdities we accept as the norm. In a world so unruly, theirs seems the only sane response”

Baby in the Mirror
By Second Adolescence
At Summerhall

The Bragi Awards are presented weekly during the Edinburgh Fringe to productions and artists within the festival that embody creativity, experimentation and excellence within new writing and contemporary performance and the visual arts.
The awards aim to celebrate work that truly reflects the ethos established by the first festival in 1947, which sought to ‘heal the wounds of conflict through the language of the arts.’
The winners of the Bragi awards are selected by a diverse panel of industry experts and awards are given out each three full weeks of the Fringe.
