Summerhall Arts Spaces: Paid Residency Opportunity

We’re thrilled to welcome artists into Summerhall’s creative spaces to experiment, develop new ideas, and take time to focus on their work. Our paid space offers a dedicated, supported week for artists or collectives in need of space, time, and a small financial boost to help things along.

Across the year, we offer 20 weeks of paid space and 30 weeks of free space, advertised in instalments. This call-out is for our paid space.

What’s Included

  • Up to 5 days’ access to TechCube Zero
    • If the Anatomy Lecture Theatre is a more suitable space for your work, you may request to use it instead of Tech Cube Zero.
    • Venue specifications available on request.
  • £500 stipend for lead artists booking a full week
  • If applying for fewer days, the stipend is offered at £100 per day

This opportunity is best suited to artists or groups in the early to mid-development stages who would benefit from focused time and space, without the pressure of public outcomes or sharing.

We’d welcome you to share any photos, videos or reflections from your week that we can celebrate across our social media channels.

A Few Things to Know

  • No tech support is provided.
  • Artists must be fully self-sufficient and bring any equipment, materials, cables, etc.
  • No printing or additional resources are available on-site.
  • You’ll sign an agreement confirming care of the space and respect for our code of conduct.
